By Do-Well

What's good Late Niters, its Do-Well, Doin' it soooo and this hear is the review is for Sheek Louch's Still A Wolf. This is the perfect title for Sheek cause he definitely brought an animalistic type attitude to this mix tape. Sheek has always been the unseen member of D-Block, besides J-Hood who was supposed to blow a long time ago. He has had a couple LPs to come out. His First one was fire and After Taxes, his latest LP, is straight fire as well, despite getting little recognition.

D-Block comes at 50 and the G-Unot click, like a porno flick. On Still a Wolf its track 7 and all though Sheek is not actually spittin on the track, It does not lose any flare with Jadakiss and Styles P cleanin up the dirty work. I personally feel that there is not a click or group in Hip Hop that can compete with D.B.L.O.C.K. They don't really care about sales, they just give the hood what they want. They have decided not to follow the formula that their enemies from southside, Queens have taken (going commercial). On track 14 Styles P says "Naw I aint 50 and them, they sell more but I spit a lot sicker then them". Nuff said.

To me this is more of a D-Block mixtape than just Sheek alone. Its 21 tracks on it and only 8 have just Sheek on it. Since all the members of D-Block can all spit it does not take away from the quality of the mixtape. I have always liked Sheek cause he keeps it gutter always with no compromise. Track 5 "Murda Murda" is an example of what I mean. The hook goes "I'll stab me a nigga/ Shoot me a nigga/ I'll stump that nigga out quickly/ I'm a keep on buggin/ Keep on thuggin till the police come and get me". That is self explanatory.

I Feel several tracks on Still a Wolf. Track 5 that I just mentioned is Sheek at his best. Track 7 that I previously mentioned "Sorry Miss Jackson". This by far is the best diss I've heard besides The Games "360 bars". I say this cause in the diss they are speaking the truth. "The hood was behind her for her whole career/ Now they startin to slightly disappear". Now that's Real Talk. I could start a whole segment on that comment alone. Track 8 is Sheek's remake of "Heard Em Say". My favorite line off that one was "And i heard em say, he gone send police at me if I shoot his way/ And y'all heard em say that the hardest come from yonkers 50 is gay". The fact that 50 said that makes me chuckle a bit. Track 19 is "G's Up" and all G's must listen to this track. The 2 hottest joints on Still a Wolf is track 9 "Take Everything" and Track 16 "D.B.L.O.C.K." (To hear these tracks click on the links on the track listings below.)

Sheek truly keeps it thur-row on this mixtape. That combined with D-Block backing is Hip Hop heaven for me. 4.5 is my rating cause nothing is perfect, but this is pretty close. Cop that After Taxes album by Sheek as well. Its Do-Well. Im gone...
