Tha Alkaholiks - Firewater

By: R.Motions

HHH Official rating: 3.5/5
Beats rating: 3.5/5
Lyrics rating: 4/5
Music Quality: 3.5/5

It has been 10+ years since Tha Alkaholiks released the "21 and over" album. If you are a real fan of hip-hop, you know that The Alkaholiks are considered one of the best pure hip-hop groups of all time. Their first album was 10 tracks of pure HipHop. From beginning to end their vibe has never changed. Straight skills with bouncy beats have been the main stay to their career. They served up their alkaholik tonic for ten years now and have never served any Alkaholik album “on the rocks” meaning they have never fallen off.

Fast forward ten years later and 4 albums and here comes their last collaborative effort entitled "Firewater". The album begins with an “A team” type solider into where it sets the mood to let you know that as a team they can get things done. The whole vibe of the album is for lack of a better phrase – “Party and Bullsh*t”. On the track popular demand lyrics show that after 10 years in the game the alkaholiks are still as witty as ever:

“I gotta body count like Ice-T’s band
tha liks bring it to you live like C-Span” – Popular Demand

The majority of the album’s tracks are produced in house by Tha Alkaholik’s very own E-Swift. Most would know him from the banga Operation Lockdown by Helta Skelta. Nothings changed. E-Swifts production is still in his own vibe which is a perfect combination to J-Ro and Tash’s rhymes.

There are many standout tracks on this album are: The Flute Song, Popular Demand, Hangover ft. Styliztik Jones and Bishop Lamont, Drink wit Us and Do it.

Any real HipHop fan will love this album. I want to thank Gio at Koch for hooking me up with the album to review.

And remember “The Alkaholiks Click quick Knocking out Imposters!”

Go Cop this album….
