Sheek Louch After Taxes

Throughout his career, sheek has heard alot of critiques. From "he aiight, but he aint on the level of styles or kiss", "that dude is trash" or any variation of such gibberish. But check it, Sheek is back with his new album "After Taxes" and the industry underdog, is putting to rest all of his critics with an album that not only transends his past efforts, but undoubtedly be one of the best albums of the year.

As a reviewer, I always have to take a "middle of the road" perspective on things that I am reviewing, as a fan, I'm the same as any other person..."I'ma hata"...but anyhow, so I get the Sheek Louch album (Shout out to Gio and Koch) and I'm like ok...that’s what’s up, I will peep this and see if Dirty would do the review (not really being a fan and didnt want to be overcritical on it). After about 5 songs, I am like nah, I need to review this joint right here. Right from the intro you can tell how serious Sheek is on this album. This album follows the hood formula on creating hits and street music. Sheek's flow is flawless and shows how Living Off Xperience can make you into a lyrical monster. Oh and don’t think Sheek aint getting paid cause he on Koch. You are all sadly mistaken. I have heard rumors of cats getting a distribution deal through Koch and getting way more money and points than any other label out there...like 50/50 split. (Like i said, this is just a rumor and there are no facts backing this up) And if that is the case, then his last outting (Walk Wit Me) which sold 250,000 units, really made sheek a pretty penny. In his own words: "I get more points than a porcupine."

Now on to the album.

There are a total of 19 tracks on this album with features from: Jadakiss, Styles P, J Hood, Redman, Ghost Face Killah, Fabolous, Beanie Sigel, T.I. and Carl Thomas. Don’t let all these names make you feel like he album is full of collaborations because it's not. the "Kiss Your A88 goodbye Remix" alone has Fabolous, Beanie Sigel and T.I.

If you are like me, you probably look at the cover while listening to the album, and peeping who produced certain tracks on the album so if you dont have the album, here is the basic breakdown of producers: Buckwild, Mr. Devine, Vinny Idol, Rockwilder, havoc, Dj Twins, Red Spyda, Cocoa Chanelle and Alchamist.

This album has some true standouts that will have you vibing and nodding your cabbage and having you putting that "oooooohhhhhweeeeeeeeeee" face on. The "Maybe If I Sing" track is hilarious. Another D-Block Diss towards 50 Cent. But this one is not only a vicious blow, but its different in the sense that Its Sheek showing that he can get into the "mosh pit" and land elbows and chest kicks to anybody in the game.

"Kiss Your a88 goddbye" is already a classic track, so there is really no need to examine this track...its Fire! nuff said.

On the introsceptive song "Pressure" Sheek puts it all out there on what pressure is for a young man just coming out of prison and dealing with what life has in front of him (Very good story Song). This song will encapsulate you in its sleek beat produced by Cocoa Chanelle.

My personal favorite song on the album, is the Alchemist produced "Movie Ni88as" featuring Ghost Face. The mellow mood of the beat offers the perfect backdrop for Sheek and Ghost to do what they do best; Spit Fire.

Check out these Lyrics:

“I don't pillow talk, I tell a Ho* what she need to know
I don’t care if she thicker than Pizza dough."

- Sheek Louch - Movie Ni88as

Hey R. is the Cocoa Chanel you mentioned in this review the same girl that DJs? If so she has come a long way from being BET's Teen Summit DJ from back in the day. This is definitely monumental for a lady DJ to become a producer. Most of the time you just hear of the male DJs becoming producers. School me if I am wrong.

Who in the hell is doing these reviews. Let me guess, yall must have picked soemone from Wack block to review this bullshit record. Them no record selling, getting raped by Puff ass niggas aint shit. They better worry about getting they publishing back instead of going after the King of NY. 50 and the whole G-Unit click is killing the game right now, so all these no record selling (real hip hop artist) are doing they best to try and stop the G-Unit movement. Keep trying cocksuckas but it will never work! Its funny how people who don't sell always say "I made this album for me" or my favorite "I'm not pop, I'm under ground". Translation is I don't make any money! Fif said it best. If you made that album for you keep it in your car or head phones and don't put thaty bull shit out. Yall talking about Fif being pop or comercial when his first record was gutta as hell. The second one was just as tight, not as street, but after you sell 11 million records (more than Wack Block, Kiss, Sheek or Styles sold together) where do you go? Sheek is garbage, so is Jada and Styles and yall gave this a 4? Yall are almost as bad as the source with the Fifty hatin shit. Keep it up and soon you'll be filing for bankruptcy too :) Haters only make real niggas stronger and richer!! Hate it or love it beyothes!

I gotta get at KG for his comment about fuck G-Unit. Again, d-block can't say shit till they get they money situation worked out with Puff. Them faggot as niggas on hot 97 crying about how Puffy is taking all they money and how they might retire. That's some real G's talking aint it? Reall G's wouldn't say shit in public. They would show up at Puffs office and handle it like "Gangsta's and gentleman" Style P! You tell Puff enough of this shit. One more album then he has to release you or bad things start to happen. If they are so gully, Puff would have to listen or get wacked. Even Puff aint scared of d-block cause he still raping them for their dough even though he don't do shit for their albums, and you got the nerve to try and diss Fif? Styles can't even get his shit out cause Fif controls Interscope and his shit keeps getting pushed back. Yayo was right that they made more money in them damn shiney suits. Fif is changing the game right now and with the additions of MOP and Mobb Deep NY is shook! Aint nobody eating like G-Unit in NY. Not even Hov himself is bigger than Fif. They have the strongest roster in the biz and I'll put Lloyd Banks up against any one of them bums. Since J-Hood is so dope where is his album? G-Units mixtapes are better than all of they albums! I hope to God Puff sells Jada's publishing to Fif, or he signs the Lox to a deal. What would yall have to say then? They should do what Nas is going to do by siging with Jay, if you can't beat em join em. LOL!!! Bum as niggas!!!

U say fif is so nice
he can't even spit. He talks about the same shit.
Same ol content, vocabulary, and his flow is the same on every song.
I"ll admit he makes a lot of money, and dre lace him with a lot of nice beats. Everybody knows negativity, and controversy is what sell records.Jada and styles whack. U must be crazy. Cause every album that jay put out, except for vol 3 was better than any album fif could ever make.None of those albums sold more than than 7 million. So don't say they wack cause they don't make the most money. Eminem, Common, Nas, Jay and YES Styles and Jada are better than fifty. Just not business savy!

    I'm back!!!!

I was going to keep my mouth shut but someone had to wake up the beast who destroyed DPB on his own site.

Nitti reported in a forum that the Lox have made a grand total of 1.5 million dollars off of their album sales. No I don't read soundscan but when three of the "best" lyricist are only able to generate 1.5 mill between three cats something is wrong. These cry babies where wanting to drop a frig on Puff for 400,000 dollars. They was talking all that nonsense about how Puff is taking all theymoney. THEY DON'T MAKE ANY MONEY. There are a bunch of broke rappers. Styles P better shut up so Fif will let his album get put out. They hustle hard right? Not!!! Them niggas don't know what a hustle is if that's all they made. Oh, I forgot they got keys coming in and their deisel is so dope. Not!!! Them niggas don't sell dope and they don't have the streets on lock. All yall got the underdog syndrome. Fuk J-Prince huh? All the artist you mentioned didn't sell more than Fif combined! Money talks and bullshit runs a marathon! Just wait till 06 when every two months or so you'll see a G-Unit record. Them niggas better switch sides cause they are on the loosing team. Torr you must be a broke, bummy, cry baby ass nigga just like the dudes you support. If I'm riding a dick at least its a rich one. Your sucking off some of the brokest dudes in the biz.

I just came back to HHH to see you responded tto me. Since you think these rappers is broke I'll show howmuch they sold

    1. Nas has sold 5 mil of illmatic and has gone platinum of every album exept Street's Desciple which still went gold. how you gonna say he broke.

    2. Shyne went platinum off his debut and gold off the second due to beingin prison.

    3. Exept her latest shit Kim has went platinum of her first two alnums.

    4. Dblock hasnt sold much as group but have had pretty good solo careers. Jada wenbt gold off his first and platinum the next. Styles had a gold selling sucess. Sheek flopped on his first but is selling pretty good on After Taxes right now.

    5. Ja has sold over 12 mil records world wide of all of his albums definitley can't say he broke.

Record sales aside most artists that don't sell good are mostly a 100 times better than what the soundscan indicates or how much money they make. Most albums that have been slept on are great (Little Brother, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Joe Buddens, etc) I anit't dissing but just sayin you shouldn't be considering rappers lowly because of buisness savy or sucess.
